Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

paternity,child support

My son's ex-girlfriend is pregnent. She admits being with two other people around the time of conception. We are working on gettting a paternity test at this time. If my son is the father what legal steps need to be taken to make sure the right things are done for the child and avoid being caught up in any legal battle.

Thank you.

Re: paternity,child support

Talk to an attorney about arranging an agreed paternity judgment. Formalizing rights and responsibilities while people are cooperative is better than having to try making an agreement when they are upset about some perceived injustice or offense.

I'd get an atty to draft some "agreed to" papers now while everyone can still get along if the test comes back that your son is the father

Let me know if I can be of additional assistance.
