Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

i married in california and we are seperated and I now live in nevada.my ex started the divorce but never finalized it.so can I get divorced here or does it have to go through california and can I make up my own visitation for the kids if I file?

Depends if there were any custody orders made in California and how long your children have lived in Nevada. If the California Judge made a custody order, Nevada would not have jurisdiction to make any custody orders unless the California case was dismissed. Additionally, the children would have had to live in Nevada for six months before Nevada would assume jurisdiction over the children.
