Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I live in New Jersey and have residential custody of my son. I receive weekly child support payment from my ex. Recently, my ex-husband told me that he was taking my son to a wedding, and that he purchases him a suit, for over $250, and that I have to reimburse him out of the child support I receive. This does not seem like an ordinary expense to me. Do I have to pay/reimburse him for any of this money?

There is no requirement for reimbursement for clothes voluntarily purchased by the child support paying spouse. On the other hand, he has no obligation to give you those clothing items for use by your son. Perhaps you could split the cost with him so your son could get more use out of the suit than just one occasion.
