Legal Question in Immigration Law in New York

Hello,

I am presently on h4 status.

I applied for future employment green card

and i got my EAD(WORK AUTHORISATION),but i

did not start working, for the last 18 months for personal reasons.

Now I received an interview letter for my Green Card(AOS) this month.

My question is, Should the immigration

officer asks me a question "why i did not start working

till now" what do i say?

Thanks

Explain the personal reasons that you mentioned in your post.

The CIS officer may be more interested to know whether you really plan to start working for the petitioner in the future, etc.

I would need more information regarding your particular case before I could comment on it properly.

However, what I can say is that you must tell the immigration servies the truth they ask you why you have not been working.

Please note that you will have to tell the immigration service the truth before they would have already carried out their own investigation and know that you were not working.
