reimburse the state for entitlements

If a married couple, living off the system, (medicaid, food stamps social security disability,) win a law suite they lodged against a hospital, are they obligated to repay the government with the funds they receive?

It depends, that could happen. It depends on your specific situation.

For example, someone with money in the bank becomes paralyzed, in order to get social security and hospital treatment a guardian must be appointed. The guardian will spend down the money in the person's bank account with an allowance for certain needs, and then ssi and disability kick in.

It may...certain entitlement programs are entitled themselves to rget reimbursemenys for monies they paid to the people that now have assets.
