Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in North Carolina

I have a years lease and the building is being sold. Does the new owner have to honor the lease?

A real estate lawyer can tell you for sure, but my recollection from law school is that usually the new owner does not, unless the lease was recorded in the register of deeds.
