Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Pending lawsuit

i had a hospital bill from over 1 year ago. At the time I was uninsured and I still do not have and insurance. I was served papers to appear in court for this bill. Is there anyway I can settle this without going to court? I have no money, no assets, etc. What could happen if I do not show up?

Re: Pending lawsuit

You can defend this case yourself. You should, however, definetly show up to court. Depending on the size of the bill, it may be in your best interest to hire an attorney to negotiate the bill down. A lot of times, this will save you time and headache.
