Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

friend owes me $20,000

i leant a friend $20,000 to by a semi truck to help him start a business. My name is on the title but I also put his name on the title. This was over 10 months ago and I have not seen one dime back. He is working making 3000 -7000 a month. He cannot get a loan because of his credit. Ive called mutliple times, told him i needed to sell the truck if i wasnt going to recoop my money from him. What recorse do i have if any since i was a fool and put his name on the titel too. I have proof that the money came from my account. He wont accept certified mail so even if i hire an attorny he wont open any letters from them. any advice would be great. Thanks

This sounds like a matter I might be willing to accept on a contingency fee basis if you are serious about getting your money back. I'm curious to know whether you had a written agreement. Contact me if you want to retain an attorney and we can discuss things further.

Contact a lawyer. Just because nothing is in writing doesn't mean you can't recover. Keep all your records.... bank, phone, letters, etc.

It appears to be an easy matter to handle. The problem is that you can't get blood from a turnip.

If you want, call me and we can talk about it. If I can't help you, I'll get you in contact with someone who can.
