Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

laywers

Are all lawyers pond scum, or has that just been my experience? I have had to deal with only 3 lawyers in my entire life and all were dishonest, greedy and lazy. I thought ethics was part of this industry's required training. Ha!

Re: laywers

Good question. I'm sure some are dishonest. I know a lot who are good, hardworking people. Some times, lawyers are only as good as the people they represent. I don't know what your particular issues were... but 3 lawyers are hardly enough to stereotype the entire profession. Perhaps you should have kept looking. Regarding greedy and lazy: Being a lawyer is hard work and therefore, very expensive for people to get good representation. If you don't pay your lawyer, they probably won't put in the effort required for a successful result. You sound jaded. My suggestion is to contact the local bar association if you are unhappy with any of your representation.

Re: laywers

Dear Disillusioned Client: No, not all Attorneys are, as you characterize them, "pond scum", any more than are other professionals, or human beings. Perhaps you selected some from the bottom of the barrel and, not unlike apples, were already bad or merely unpalatable. Either way they were probably just as bad for your digestion.

Most Attorneys work hard and long for their clients, are honest, forthright, serious, sincere and...I'm speaking for myself as well.

Sorry you picked the wrong ones. Better luck next time...call me for further advice in selecting lawyers.

Sincerely,
