Unlicensed Minor driving and in accident

Someone gave my17yr. old son permmission to drive their car and they knew he did not have a license. He had an accident. Can I be made responsible for any damages?

Under certain circumstances an adult parent can be responsible for damages caused by a minor child. I believe that the limit to this is now $20,000.00 (but not totally sure w/out looking up). However, the person that lent the car has full exposure for negligent entrustment.
