Legal Question in Consumer Law in Pennsylvania

unethical mechanic

A local mechanic has repeatedly told us that our truck will be repaired, yet he's keeping the truck. He has been paid for his repairs. It's been 8 weeks now that he's been lying to us. Where can we get help to get our truck repaired and back to us? We are constantly mentally harassed by this mechanic and his lies. We are 66 and 70 years old. We need immediate help!!

Re: unethical mechanic

You probably already know the answer to this question. You can get help from an attorney in the area where you live--there are several on this board that practice there. He/she can interview you and tell you what your remedies are, if any, based on your answers. The mechanic may have good reasons for the delays (third party delays in shipment of parts, etc.) or he could simply be telling stories as you suggest.

Re: unethical mechanic

Huh? I'm not understanding. You paid him before he did anything?? Why would you do that? How is it that he's "keeping" your truck if you don't owe him any money? Go and get your truck--it's yours. After you get it back, take it elsewhere and then you can deal with getting your money back by suing him.
