Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Collections Harrasment at work

First off, is it illegal for a collections agency to call your place of work and harrass you about late payments?

Secondly, how can I stop them from calling my work? These calls could cause me to lose my job.

Re: Collections Harrasment at work

I would make an oral and written request for them to stop harrassing you at work. Cite the Federal Fair Debt and Collections Practice Act to the credit agency. I suggest you hire an attorney and notify them of that attorney's identity. Once notified of an attorney they are required to stop contacting you under the above. Violations of this act will subject the collection agency to fines and penalties. Gerald Hershenson Esq.
