Am I responsible for my husband's debts?

My husband has credit cards which were opened by him without my name anywhere on the account. My question is: if he dies, will I be responsible to pay off his debts?

Unless you personally signed for the credit card you are not responsible after he dies. However, any assets that has in his own name would be used to satisfy any of his debts. Suggest you consult with legal counsel and consider some estate planning. Gerald Hershenson 215-579-9390
