Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

writ of execution

I bought furniture, paid for it in cash, Dec 2002. I have a witness. The furniture co delivered it. I don't have my receipt. They are sueing me saying I never paid. I believe the statute of limitations is 4 years. Worse scenario I would lose can they have a writ of execution immediately or after I would have time to file an appeal. Do I need a lawyer to file an appeal? I am in the process of putting my property on the market and also wouldn't want an embarrassment of a sheriff sale. I need your help. Thank You

Re: writ of execution

you would want to present any defenses such as a statute of limitations defense, in the answer to the complaint. you cannot use the defense (without jumping through alot of hoops) after a judgment is entered. I suggest you hire an attorney to at least answer the complaint!
