Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Ex-Husband in Contempt of Divorce Order

My divorce was finalized in February of 2001. In the divorce order my ex-husband had lawsuits pending with the state of NY and the Bear Sterns Co. (maybe other companies also - not sure). Since the accident occured while we were married I was entitled to half instead of taking the half in my name the divorce order reads that 40% of whatever monies awarded for these lawsuits would go into a fund in my daughter's name as well as mine. The order is specific in stating what I could use the funds for. After some research on my own an attorney and my ex-husband told me the cases were settled. My ex told me he put my daughters 40% in a fund with her name AS WELL AS HIS because he didn't want my name on the account. He is obviously in contempt of the order. How do I find out if the cases were indeed settled, where and how do I obtain my daughters money if it was settled and how will he be prosecuted for being in contempt? Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated as I do not know which direction I should go. Thank you!

Re: Ex-Husband in Contempt of Divorce Order

There are several websites that offer the ability to check for judgements. I like www.knowx.com however some of these sites may not be totally correct, you need to have all of the information such as SS#, names of the plaintiffs and defendants and where the judgement maybe filed.

Winning judgements and collecting monies owed are two totally different areas and I tell all my clients winning is less than 50% of the game, collecting is the tough part.

My firm specializes in collecting unpaid fees, our website is www.youresquire.net and if you want to call our office we offer an initial free consultation to all clients.
