Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Is my did still responsible?

My father walked out on his family 18 years again. We never got child support. My parents never got a divorce. If he came back would he still be responsible for child support or alimony? All the children are now over 21. Are my parents still legally married even though they haven't lived in the same state for 18 years?

Re: Is my did still responsible?

Your parents are still legally married. Your mother could get a divorce without your father's consent because they have been separated for more than two years. Once the children reach the adult age a father's obligation to support terminates. There is no case of which I am aware that imposes upon a father back support obligations. However, more facts are needed to evaluate such a course of action. Does he have money? If not do not bother to pursue him. I caution you to consult legal counsel for a full evaluation of the specific factual situation. If I can assist let me know. I can be reached at 215-579-9390
