District court rescheduling

I was scheduled to go to court ( district court ) for rent on 2-12-07 / today I received a letter that they rescheduled for 1-26-07 do I have the right to notify that I can keep the original date? But am unable to make next weeks ?

If someone can't make a hearing date, the date rescheduled is almost always AFTER the original date. It's improper that they moved the date forward. You should call the District Judge's office and say you need a continuance.
