Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

Leasing an apartment

We started to lease an apartment July of 2006 well in Jan. 2007 my husband was sick and missed a lot of work. So we was unable to pay that months rent we told him we would catch it up with our income tax return. Well that was not exectable to him and he filed charges at the magistrate Feb. 2nd of 2007. How long do we have to get out of the apartment. We had a hearing and was unable to able to attend on Feb. 12 2007. We received stating possession granted to the landlord.

First of all, there's no such thing as being unable to attend a hearing. You have to be there. If you couldn't be there, you should have called and asked that the hearing be rescheduled.

You have 10 days from the 12th to file an appeal. Go to the prothonotary's office in your county and file one. Now. That will delay things a bit.

Did you pay February's rent? If not, why not?
