Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

I live in Pennsylvania, I have moved into a new home on 3/16/2010 and found out today my landlord sold the home, when the new landlord came knocking on my door, My question is, I have a year lease with my old landlord, and rent is stated due on the 16 th of each month, the new owner told me today he wants rent on the 1st of every month, I will only be here a total of 16 days when the 1st is here, Do I have to pay the total amount of rent? when I already paid the first landlord this months rent already ?..there is no way I can come up with 975 in 16 days, or does my old landlord legally have to give me back the money I paid him? or does the new landlord have to wait till the 16th when my lease states when rents due?

The new landlord has to abide by the lease unless your lease states otherwise. Your old landlord should have given the new landlord the pro rata share of the rent.
