Legal Question in Family Law in South Carolina

Child support

Hi,

If I am ordered by the court to pay a certain amount for current child support as well as past due and it is drafted weekly out of my check, can the mother go to another agency to get money over the awarded amount through our local court system. They are drafting as well and the court.

Re: Child support

There cannot be multiple obligations for one child. The mother can seek a recalculation, which could result in an increase, but not a separate obligation.

These are complex issues, and it is important that they be handled correctly. Therefore, it is important that you consult an experienced family law attorney to find out what options are available to you based on the facts of your particular case.
