Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Tennessee

Civil Rights for Whites

Are there any rights violated when your are wrongfully terminated by a large corporation because a word that was stated during a conversation meaning ''cases'' was misconstruded as meaning ''black''? I have been labeled a''racist'' in my community now. I have lost my job with this company without any defense. I am a nurse and never have I jeopardized any care of a patient because of race, gender, or age. I feel violated, embarassed, and numb over this event in my life. In this area, I will never find a job with this kind income. Is there help???

There probably is help! Firstly, large companies generally have employee relations manuals, which lay out the procedure for making complaints, and for terminating an employee. This likely includes a procedure for contesting any charges made against you. Read that Manual over carefully. If they have violated there own manual, you will probably be entitled to reimbursed for your lost salary since termination, and reinstatement in your job. Lastly, the procedure must be meticulously followed. You then might want an attorney to represent you in any such future proceeding. But, that is up to you.
