Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Texas

Job Interviews

I am wondering if a company can deny you a job interview because of where you live?

example: If the job is based in a city 3 hours away and you make sure you are in that city, ready to work the night before your duty starts...can they deny you an interview solely based on where you live? It seems like discrimination to me.
