Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

I received a repair estimate from the at-fault driver's insurance company's preferred collision repair facility. I feel it is too low. They mailed me a check in the amount based on the initial estimate and it's made out only to me (the car is not paid off). Should I cash it? Does cashing it constitute some kind of legal acceptance of their "settlement"??
