Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Texas

Inherited Real Estate - No Will

My grandmother died almost 30 yrs ago and left no will. She had property that she had inherited from her mother. Now 7 of her 8 children are deceased. I am currently paying taxes on this property. My aunt was paying until 2 yrs ago when she became ill. She died in Feb. 2008. The heirs now want to sell this property. How do we start the process?

Re: Inherited Real Estate - No Will

It depends on whether anyone died within the last 4 years had a will to probate. First probate those wills, if there are any, then you could convey using an affidavit of heirship and any title company can help you sort all of this out.
