Legal Question in Family Law in Virginia

I was married for 20 years and have a non modified agreement of alimony payment of $30,000 a year for ten years based on a $160,000 a year income with the jurisdiction in the state of Virginia. I have paid $150,000 for the last five years to my ex wife. I have since remarried and moved to the state of California and am currently unemployed. What are my options for discontinuing payment of alimony? What are the ramifications for nonpayment?

Your best option (in my opinion) would be to retain the services of a Virginia attorney to review this agreement for spousal support and the attendant relevant facts and who can then advise you, accordingly.

By your reference to " a non-modified agreement", I assume that you mean

a (supposedly) "non-modifiable" agreement.
