Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in India
I own a room in Mumbai under the pagdi system. Several builders have approached us for redevelopment and offered more than the market value but the landlord refuses any offers as it will affect running his business. The condition of the building is pathetic and it can collapse anytime. All the tenants agree to redevelopment. We have approached the landlord several times over this but he refuses to even discuss redevelopment. Can we take the landlord to court over this (asking him to agree to redevelopment)?

yes all the tenants can jointly approach the court .Serve him a legal notice first and see his response. If he fails to act the litigation is the only answer
