Legal Question in Real Estate Law in India

my father ,who died 2 yrs back, was gifted a land by a relative of his.no paper work was done then. but the whole village knows about it.my father decided to name the land on his father's name.and he did. today,all the property that stands on that land ,be it the hotel restaurant is all my fathers paid work.he had put all the money for it ! again no paper work to proove that.but the whole village is a witness. now that my grandfather died a year after my fathers death ,his two younger brothers are asking for a division on the property on which my father put his hard earned money .one of the brother ,who had already named a part of the whole land by his name and has build a motel standing on it, is still asking for division on left part of land. his demand is based on the fact that he would get equal division on the land named after his father after his death ! sir i have to ask that isnt this illegal for people to lay hand on some one elses hard earned work!? my father had put lakhs to build the whole thing! and we also have witnesses. our relatives .the villagers ! wont that help? pls sir guide me on this! i dont think it should become legal for someone who has already taken a part of land and named it for him and then again ask for division ! please help ! thanku
