firearms on airlines
If a firearm is broken down and placed in luggage is it still considered to be a firearm instead of components of a firearm?

Re: firearms on airlines
Just check with the airlines. There are very specific rules about what you can and cannot carry or ship through on a passenger airplane. You might also talk to people at the TSA, the Federal agency responsible for air travel safety. They're the ones who do the inspections.
You CAN ship a firearm through, and in one piece, from what I last read about it, IF it's shipped in a locked box and handled as separate luggage, by itself, and unloaded, of course. But again, check with the airline and with TSA.
