I go to trail for a unlawful detainer and need more time to find housing.

That is not an issue the court may legally take into account. The court will either order eviction or not, based upon the facts and contracts. You must take care of yourself, find new housing asap, as the court is not going to do it for you. Consult your local welfare office or other similar public and private agencies for help.
