Legal Question in Bankruptcy in California

Bankruptcy protection from foreclosure?

I was informed today that my forebearance plan with my mortgage company had been rescinded and an auctin date has been set for tomorrow morning. I filed for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy protection this afternoon. What else do I need to do to ensure the auction does not proceed in the morning?

Your question was posted while I was on vacation. Filing Chapter 7 will only protect your home temporarily. If you do not reach an agreement with bank after filing bankruptcy to bring your mortgage current, you may still lose your. If you call my office, we can discuss the possibility of converting to a Chapter 13 repayment plan to help you pay off the past due amounts on your home loan.

Fax everyone a copy of your bankruptcy filing immediately. Perhaps show up at the auction with a copy, as well.
