An employer must protect you from discrimination, harassment, and any adverse employment action like termination, demotion, harassment, hostile environment, etc. Every case is determined upon its merits and all the facts, and must be actionable under the specific definitions of the civil rights discrimination laws. If you believe you have a case, you first must file a complaint with the Dept of Fair Employment and Housing before you can even think about filing a lawsuit.

As to unemployment benefit denial, if you quit you are disqualified unless you can prove you were forced to quit or justified in quitting. That is a hard burden. You can appeal the denial decision if you think you have grounds to do so.

If serious about hiring counsel to help in this, and if this is in SoCal courts, feel free to contact me.
