statue of limitation for bill collection

How long can a bill be valid for collection. Can a company try to collect a bill which is five or six years old?

In the case of the contract in writing, which is probably what you�re dealing with, the statute of limitations as four years from the date of the breach. That would be four years from the date you did not make a required payment.
