Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
My boyfriend has 2 strikes on his record. It was for a vehiclar manslaughter but one of them is supposed to be hidden. He just got arrested for possession and sales. My question is "can and how can the Romero Act help him?"

There is no such thing as a 'hidden' strike. If you mean he got a conviction expunged, you misunderstand. An expungement helps when seeking employment, but does not prevent that conviction from counting as a strike. He probably now faces third strike status, 25 to life upon conviction. He can file motion[s] seeking to strike the strike[s] for good cause in this case, which is the Romero motion you allude to, but don't think that the outcome is assured. If he is serious about hiring counsel to represent him, feel free to contact me to discuss the case and costs of doing so.
