Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Felony strike restrictions

3 years ago i plead guilty to a residential burglary. I am going to school to be a nurse now, but was told that my felony has to be expunged. Is this possible with a Felony strike in California? I have done everything the court required: fees, cal-trans, 3 year formal probation, sober living...What can I do to clear a path for a successful career? What does it really mean to have a strike?

Re: Felony strike restrictions

You might be able to expunge this conviction, depending upon the actual charges. BUT, even if expunged, you MUST disclose the conviction AND expungement on any application for professional licensing, clearances, bonding, public office, govt employment, etc. Nursing is professional. It is then up to the employer and licensing agency whether you are disqualified by the conviction. Feel free to contact me if serious about expunging it, because that will help you in most private employment settings; you'll be able to say 'no' to conviction.

Yes....since you have already completed the probation...it can be reduced to misdemenor and expunged by filing motion to the sentencing court. I can help you with that.
