Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I helped a friend purchase 5 cellular phone stores by using my good credit scores in a loan application so he could qualify for the loan, since his credit scores weren't high enough. He took my personal information and opened several credit accounts without my consent or my knowledge, at the time until notified by collection agency's. He forged my signature on several applications and said I gave him permission to do so, by acting as my agent for the company. I signed nothing giving him power of attorney, I have nothing to do with the operation of the stores.

My question is: Can he forge my name on documents without my consent saying I gave verbal permission over the phone without a document giving him power of attorney.

"Can he"? Well, he did, didn't he? Should he have? No.

You may have grounds for a criminal complaint for forgery and related charges, file it.

You may have grounds for a civil case for breach of contract, fraud, etc. If serious about pursuing that, and if it is in the SoCal courts, and if he isn't already broke and bankrupt, then feel free to contact me to discuss.
