Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I had an incident in 1987 where I was accused of 245 A(1)-misdemeanor while never actually physically injuring anyone. I pled nolo contendre, was given probation, a fine, and some volunteer labor for hours. Completed it all and thought I had gotten my record expunged under 1203. I am now having problems with live scan for my daughters school. I thought when it was expunged, it was not a problem for anything unless I was applying for office,or a license in the state,. Is my record expunged now that I am having problems or do I need to have it dismissed and expunged etc. Help.

Expunged is all you get. That does not 'remove' the conviction, but merely changes the record to show 'conviction reversed and dismissed by expungement'.
