Penalties for Assault With a Deadly Weapon and battery
I was wondering how long does a person do time for these crimes if its there first arrest and no prior record?

Jail time also depends on other factors, such as the severity of the conduct, any injuries involved and the courthouse where the case is heard. Generally, a person with a completely clean record should be eligible for a probationary sentence which means no state prison. Probation, however, can mean serving some time in county jail.
