Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

How do I remove an infraction from my record?

I was arrested with a friend and charged with public intoxication along with about 50 others

at the California Mid State Fair... although at the time I was not drinking and with a friend (Melissa) at the time who also was not drinking... We were rounded up like cattle and arrested at a concert at the fair when a fight broke out after the show. We were not involved in the fight or drinking... we were just in the general vicinity of this fight and charged with public intoxication.

We went to court twice after pleading Not Guilty.... because both of us had to drive from

Santa Barbara to Paso Robles each time and miss work.... we decided to plead guilty to a

lesser charge (an infraction) in which the fine was upped from the original charge to $450.00 each..in exchange for the lesser charge rather than continue with another court date where we would miss more time and work. (we paid in full) I believe the Public Intoxication charge carried a fine of $350. ea. but it meant a misdemeaner on our record.... this is why they charged us more to have it reduced to an infraction.

So, I believe the charge was finally an infraction of disturbing the peace....

How do we get this purged from our records???

You don't. There is no procedure allowing expungement of infractions.
