Legal Question in DUI Law in California

Hi,

Over the last weekend me and 3 friends went to a local liquor store that was known by our teenage community to not card for identification. me and my boyfriend went into the liquor store and purchased alcohol. I am 17 and my boyfriend 17 while the other two friends were 18. Because the consequences would be less for me versus an 18 year old, and because I was a girl it made more sense for me to try this store. I was successful in purchasing the product however after i exited the establishment and entered the parking lot i encountered an undercover cop whom cited me with a m.i.p.

my questions are how much is the fine

will it affect my chances of getting into college

and most importantly is my license going to be suspended for a year

Jail and fines are the penalty for crimes. You may be able to negotiate a plea bargain with the DA to avoid jail, maybe. What can you do? Defend the charges. Go to court, enter a not guilty plea, arrange bail reduction or OR, set up and attend the court hearing[s] and trial date[s]. File evidence suppression or other motions as applicable. Raise all the available defenses with whatever admissible and credible witnesses, evidence and facts are available for legal arguments for motions, plea bargaining, or at trial. Go to trial if it can't be resolved with motions or a plea bargain. There is no magic wand to wave and make it all disappear. If you don't know how to do these things, then hire an attorney that does, who will try to get a decent plea bargain for you. If serious about doing so, feel free to contact me. Ill be happy to help you use whatever defenses you may have.
