conservator neglecting grandma

My uncle is the conservator for my grandma. He has blown all of her savings and is now tyrying to sell her house. He is a druggy, and is neglecting her. Her has spent over $200,000. in savings and is now selling the house. My name is on the trust if something should happen to him. I want to become conservator. I fear that if I do not do this, he will blow the money from the house and my grandma will be out on the street. ps- He will not get her prescriptions filled and has let her medicare lapse. I need to get control asap. What is the best way?

As soon as possible, get to an attorney that specializes in conservatorships. If your allegations are true, you can file petitions to 1) account; 2) remove; and 3) surcharge. If there has been theft, he can be removed and you should be able to obtain reimbursement from the bond. We specialize in this area; call us if we can be of assistance at (310) 787-7577.

You should file a petition to have the current conservator removed and replaced with someone else (this can be you or someone you nominate).

You must immediately file papers with the court to remove and replace him, among other things. Showing those facts to the court will result in prompt attention and action. Contact me if you need to hire counsel to do so.
