I can't explain the motivation for the claims against your family. You may want to consider consulting legal counsel in case someone seeks to institute a conservatorship or files an elder abuse claim against the family. Find a local attorney familiar with conservatorships and elder abuse.

Good luck.

Unless you are willing to initiate a nasty, emotional and expensive legal dispute with 'someone' in your family, or unless the 'claims' are really slander causing you financial damage you must remedy with legal actin, or unless the 'claims' mean they are filing legal action to appoint a conservator which you can contest, then there probably isn't much effective to do except try to negotiate a truce among the family. If you need an attorney to help with any of the above, contact me.
