Legal Question in Family Law in California

divorce

I've been living with my girlfriend for 8 years now and want out. The house we live in is in her name but I have always contributed to the rent and bills, etc. If I move out am I entitled to any monetary amount, or do I have to stick it out for 10 years?

In a general sense, if you were never married then you have no marital rights, no matter how long you live together.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
