Legal Question in Family Law in California
i live in tulare co. california. i have 3 grandchildren that live with their father. i raised the kids, the oldest from age 1 to age 8, he is now 12. the twins from age 5 months to 7, they are now 9 (almost 10). my daughter was bad on drugs, and the father the same. he went to prison when my daughter was early pregnant with the twins. he got out when the boys were 4, and 3. both the parents got their lives together and my daughter got custody back when the kids were 8 and 7. my daughter had 4 other kids after the older boys. the next two in line i also raised until she got herself together (different father), the youngest 2 were adopted, openly. when she got all her kids back, it was hard for her to care for all five, so she let the father of the 3 oldest boys take them. my daughter was killed in a car accident last year, and for awhile the father let me see and keep the boys on a regular basis. recently he has not let me see the boys, they cannot come to see me. i am not sure what my rights are and how i go about getting visitation with my daughters children. what can i do?

You can go to court to petition for visitation. There are various steps involved, and this is one of those complicated things that really does require retaining an attorney. Call me for a consultation.
