Legal Question in Family Law in California
mother still gets child support, he's lived with us for 3 months
My boyfriend and I recently got our own place. An agreement was made before we moved (between my boyfriend and the mother) that, when we got our own place, my boyfriend's son would live with us and we would be responsible for him. He's lived with us for the past 3 months and he still pays her $600 for child support.
Before we moved, he was with us every single weekend, and when we'd go shopping, he'd mention that he needed things, his mother wouldn't buy for him. I thought thats what the $600 the mother was getting were for things his son needed?
My boyfriend has been there since day one, financially taking care of his son through child support. There is no custody or or visitation order, just--name removed--child support order. How does he stop paying her all this money? Please Help! Thanks!

He needs to go to court and file an OSC for modification of child support, and he needs to file an OSC for custody to make this legal.
