Legal Question in Medical Leave in California
Paid Pregnancy Leave
My wife is pregnant and we're expecting our child in October. Do any laws allow her to get paid (even a percentage) of her salary while she's on leave?

Re: Paid Pregnancy Leave
Check with the California Employment Development Department. Your wife should be eligible for paid family leave benefits through the EDD (not the employer), for temporary disability insurance for up to six weeks.

Not unless the company offers paid leave for all employees' medical leaves. FMLA only requires they grant time off and hold the job for the required time. She can use up her accrued leaves and vacation time.
