Legal Question in Civil Litigation in California

Hello my name is Patricia & I'm 17 years old & I ran away from home two months ago which was in Houston, because I was tried of my parents bring me down & two days before I left my parents hit me badly in the face. I tried to leave but my dad grabbed my arm as I tried to walk out the door and pushed me inside. When I left I lived with my boyfriend for a week until the police went to my school and told me if I didn't go back home I would go to jail until I am 21 years old so I went back and now my parents send me to California. Now I want to become an independent adult get emancipation. Can I do this?

Probably yes. Emancipation is granted by a Superior Court Judge. You must show that you are capable of supporting yourself and deserving of emancipation.
