Legal Question in Immigration Law in California

I have been friends with and communicating with a Chinese woman for over two years now, and i would like to invite her and her daughter to come here to visit me. My question is? What kind of information do i have to include in a letter of invitation to her and her daughter so she can present that for a visa. And whom would she present that letter to?

She and her daughter are going to apply for a visitor's visa at the US consulate in China. During their visa interview, they will present the letter of invitation, visa application forms, visa fees, etc.

However, it's very likely that they will be denied visitor's visas because the Consul can view this situation as preconceived immigrant intent: that they are being invited by a single man who has been having an online relationship (corresponding) with a foreign woman, and their true intent possibly is marriage and relocation to the USA.

If you think about marrying her, you should travel to China to meet her first, and then petition for a Fiancee visa. When approved, she and her daughter can come to USA on Fiancee visas: K1 and K2.

The US government puts people into a tenuous situation by denying the ability to visit and cornering them into applying for permanent residence prematurely, but there's little choice for folks from China, unless they could come on a different visa having nothing to do with you. This would involve an investment of $1/2 or $1 million dollars, certain offers of employment, or a few other close family, petition qualified relationships, which are not likely, such as over 21 year old US citizen children, or parents who are US citizens or permanent residents. There could be more options if they don't both come to the U.S.

The above is general information, not legal advice. To form an attorney client relationship, more information must be provided and a mutual agreement in writing would be necessary.
