Legal Question in Insurance Law in California

Is there any way to file for an extension of the statute of limitation for an insurance claim after the statute of limitation has already expired? In my case, the date passed on 3/7/11. It is an injury claim with the insurance company of the driver who's fault the accident was.

There is no way to file for an extension. Under some facts and circumstances the limitations period may not have started immediately, or it may have been tolled, but based on your question there is no way to know if any of those apply. You need to call a lawyer today and discuss it with them, rather than waiting for answers on the internet. Any chance you may have that the limitations period has not run out is ticking away.
