No Human Resources Department
I work for a television production company. I am in the corporate division. We do not have an HR department. So if a boss creates a hostile work environment or if a job becomes available within the company there is no one to talk to. I am being let go and part of the issues that came up in the past (differences in opinion) were not properly addressed. I would have liked to continue to work for the company but work in a different department. Now I have no options here. What are my options as far as bringing this to the attention of the right authorities? Can I file a complaint?

'Hostile' is not illegal, unless it is based in illegal discrimintation. If the company is just unpleasant, sorry. If the hostility is based on race, sex, gender, etc, then feel free to contact me.

Even if the company does not have a local human recourse office, they most certainly have a human resources division some where within the corporation. Furthermore, there is someone senior in the company who is more senior than the person who is causing the problems you speak of. If if the conduct you speak of is not per se "illegal", which I do not understand if it is or not because I do not have enough detail, you have the right to complain to the company's HR or senior maangement.
The only issue to consider at this time is, what benefit will you gain from it? How will it affect you if you want to stay in the industry? Do you have lost wages? Do you think the conduct was actually illegal sexual or racial harassment or the boss was being abusive (which is not illegal)? You should work with an attorney to answer these question to determine what is the best course of action for you at this time.
