Legal Question in Employment Law in California
Labor Law
My company has over 15000 employees in several states with 10 offices. Some of these divisions are hiring. I worked in the Pasadena, California division having 60 employees. I was laid off with 6 others for lack of work. None of us were offered an opportunity to relocate. I worked there for seven years -- they came one day, and told us to have to leave by end of the day. They paid for two weeks pay, and we had to sign a document to get our severance pay. Is this legal?

Yes. And, you signed a Release of Claims to get your severance pay.
